Seiko are well known for making very high quality watches and the 5 series are perfect for those looking for a watch that isn’t too showy, and just does it’s job well.

Watch Specifications

Band– Stainless steel, standard length, 19mm width, with basic fold over style clasp.
Case– A stainless steel case, sizing diameter: 37 mm and thickness: 12 mm.
Dial– Smart easy to read dial with luminous markers. Mineral glass, specially hardened.
Movement– Automatic self winding movement with an analogue display.
Water Resistant– A water resistance of up to 30m / 3 bar.

Watch Advantages

Seiko are well known for making high quality affordable watches
Day and date display which is a nice addition.
Automatic self winding movement meaning it doesn’t require batteries to be changed, this saves time and money.
30m water resistance, suitable for everyday use. Splash/rain resistant. Not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkelling, water related work and fishing.

Watch Disadvantages

With a 37mm case this Seiko is smaller than a lot of popular watches you see these days that use a 40+mm case
If left unworn for a few days the watch will need to be wound up again, this is simple to do and a common issue but some people don’t realise this happens.

My Final Thoughts:

Seiko SNXS79K watch is one of my favourite from the Seiko 5 series. They really have created a very nice, smart classic watch. The automatic movement is something I really like in watches, I just think it’s a great idea to no longer require battery changes, even if they aren’t as accurate as a quartz. It may not look as stunning as some other watches but it does it’s job well and offers good value for money.
