Today we’re going to be taking a look at some of the best automatic watches under £1000 for men. There’s a wide selection of popular brands to choose from, and perhaps a few you haven’t heard of. The majority of these a Swiss made watches but there is a brilliant minimalist German made watch that’s worth checking out.

Every month I’ll be updating this post with the best mechanical watches under £1000. As styles become unavailable I’ll replace them with other popular choices so the list is constantly evolving over time.

Bulova 63C116 review. Bulova are one of my favourite affordable watch brands, so it’s interesting to take a look at their higher end models such as the Accu Swiss collection. The dial features two chronograph sub dials and a day & date display. The whole dial design is clean and simple with an easy to read style.

It’s a Swiss automatic watch with a Swiss made chronograph movement. The casing itself measures 41mm in diameter and has a 15mm thickness that’s a popular size for men. The watch also features a sapphire glass crystal that offers some of the best scratch resistance available. As for water resistance it has a 30m rating.

Glycine 3927.191-LB9B review. Our first edition from Glycine is this automatic Airman. It’s a Swiss made watch with an automatic self-winding movement. Everything about this watch is high quality. The dial has a high visibility finish as you’d expect from a pilot watch.

The movement is a 21 jewel Swiss automatic with a 42 hour power reserve, it has a 4/28’000 vibrations per hour rating. The GL 293 is a special ETA caliber made for Glycine. The watch features an exhibition caseback so you can view the automatic movement at work. There’s also a sapphire crystal glass for top scratch protection and a 200m water resistance rating.

The dial design has a monochrome style to it, there’s 3 chronograph sub dials that can also be put to good use. At the 3 o’clock position we have a small standard date display.

The watch functions with a self winding Swiss automatic movement that can be view through the stylish exhibition caseback that’s a brilliant feature of this watch. The watch is a decent size with a 42mm casing that is suitable for most men. Extra features of the watch include a sapphire crystal glass for brilliant scratch protection and a 30m water resistance rating. The calfskin leather strap is extra comfortable too.

Certina are another one of those brands you’ll see quite a lot of when you enter this sort of price range, it’s a Swiss made watch with an automatic movement. A key feature of this watch is the DS safety concept. The DS is a double safety system concept, which the optimal protection from external influences, such as pressure, Ambient, moisture, dust and other substances.

The movement on this watch is pretty awesome, it’s a Swiss ETA automatic C01. 211. You can view the movement through the exhibition caseback which is a feature I love on watches. Extra features of the watch include the sapphire crystal glass, reinforced chassis, O-ring seal, and a 100m water resistance rating.

This is one of the more affordable automatic watches in today’s list.

Tissot T006.428.16.058.01 review. Here we have another one of Tissot’s best selling watches. I think the textured dial gives the watch an interesting edge, I’d rather go for something like this over a plain dial anytime. The subdial is used to measure 60 seconds instead of having a normal seconds hand. There’s also a useful date display at the 3 o’clock position.

The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement. Extra features include a sapphire crystal glass, calfskin leather strap, and a 30m water resistance rating.

Another one of the best swiss automatic watches under 1000 in my opinion.

Revue Thommen 17030.2537 review. The first edition we have from Revue Thommen is this impressive looking dive style Swiss made automatic watch. The dial is relatively clear with an easy to read design, there’s a good use of lume on the hands and hour markers. You’ll notice that there’s a magnifier bubble over the date display so it’s easier to read at a glance.

The watch has an impressive Swiss movement, the ETA 2824 that’s very accurate and reliable. It also features a turnable bezel, knurled crown, sapphire glass, and a 300m water resistance rating as you’d expect from a diving watch.

Victorinox 241191 review. Victorinox are another one of my favourite brands offering great quality timepieces. This watch is Swiss made and has a sports/racing style to it. The dial is well spaced out with its 3 chronograph subdials and a small date display at the 3 o’clock position. The dial has this brilliant silver sunburst effect added to it which looks pretty good.

The watch uses a precise Swiss automatic movement and includes features such as a sapphire crystal glass, and a 200m water resistance rating.

Hamilton H64515133 review. We couldn’t put a list together featuring the best automatic watches without showcasing a Hamilton timepiece. Hamilton are a very popular brand in this price range, the have a huge selection of pretty stunning Swiss automatic watches. The hands and hour markers around the edge have a luminous coating. I movement that features the day at the 12 o’clock position and date at the 6 o’clock position has always been one of my top choices.

The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement and has extra features such as a GMT scale around the inner rim, rotating coin edged bezel, sapphire crystal glass, and a 100m water resistance rating.

They create these extremely sleek, smart designs that have a luxury flair to them. This model has a relatively minimal design on the dial but shows off with some rose gold accenting.

The watch uses a Swiss automatic movement that’s known for its reliability and accuracy. The glass is made of a synthetic sapphire that gives you a Mohs hardness rating of 9, extremely hard to scratch. As for water resistance it has a 20m rating with a screw down crown.
